Every year brings a unique set of events and the creative minds in the event industry look at these to try to predict trends and foresee the themes that their clients are likely to be asking for.
So, what are we at Organise Events seeing in our crystal ball, or bubbly paperweight if you want to be more specific? We have a new James Bond film, Spectre, coming out later in the year and this always causes excitement with themed Bond events and parties on the agenda. Preparations will also be well underway for the 2016 Summer Olympics, although the theme is more likely to be seen next year than this year.
We are now five years away from 2020 and it has been anticipated that many companies will use the 2020 date and 20/20 vision congruence to come up with ambitious plans. It makes sense although, as with the Millennium, too much focus on 20/20 visions may eventually prove a bit off-putting. Still, we're expecting some creative brainstorming and goal setting themes as the year progresses.
This year is the 200th anniversary of the battle of Waterloo and the 800th anniversary of the Magna Carta, so there will be plenty of historical reflection in the UK. Perhaps a map themed team building event would suit some clients, mapping out their own territory in terms of business and competition. This would fit into our Bespoke Projects category and we would love to discuss such a project with you.
It's going to be a fairly big year for physics and space. The Large Hadron Collider will be back on line after a couple of years out of action and Britain will be sending its first official astronaut into space when Tim Peake flies out to the International Space Station in November. The US New Horizon probe will also visit Pluto. These events might inspire teams to try a space themed team building activity.
So, we have a busy year ahead with plenty to inspire clients who like to make their themes relevant. What are your current themes? We are not an 'off the shelf' event company, so call us to discuss what's happening in your business so we can suggest ways that we can tailor events to you.
