Christmas 2017

Posted on 21st Aug 2017

In a week or so the school holidays will come to an end and the rush to organise a Christmas works party will start. Some companies organise their Christmas party in January and many others have reserved their event space and activities long before August, so the rush can become a bit of a panic when people find that their first and second options are already booked.

Generally we find that we can find a venue in late August and September, but it becomes increasingly difficult after that. Often late organisers have to settle for not their first, or even second choice of venue.

If you have flexibility on dates then choosing days earlier in the week can increase your options. Most people go for Thursday or Friday. The ultimate flexibility is to have a party in January and avoid the Christmas rush completely. Many venues charge a premium in December, particularly when it comes to the room hire fee on top of the food. In January you can sometimes avoid room hire fees completely.

Our Christmas Treasure Hunt is another very flexible option. We start at your office and finish at a pub or restaurant and this really does increase your options. If you have a really tight budget this event can be a fun solution that does not feel like something 'done on the cheap'.

The main thing is to get your skates on. The sooner you organise your Christmas event the more options you will have. And yes, it will be Christmas before we know it. We hope you had a lovely Summer!
